$ONDS: Building the Autonomous Defense Platform of the Future

$ONDS is quietly building the backbone of autonomous defense, from private wireless networks to combat proven drones that hunt hostile aircraft out of the sky.

    Ondas Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ONDS)

Ondas Inc.: The System of Systems Vision

$ONDS is building a system of systems for autonomous defense, spanning private wireless networks, combat proven counter drone weapons, and ground robotics.

Ondas Autonomous Systems (OAS). Drones and counter drone systems. Key products are the Optimus System, an FAA certified surveillance drone, and the Iron Drone Raider, an AI powered counter drone interceptor. In addition, OAS includes ground robotics, demining systems, and cyber RF detection, added through recent acquisitions.

    Autonomy at First Contact

The company changed its name from Ondas Holdings to Ondas Inc in January 2026.

Why the Growth Runway Looks Long

Short term win: fast acquisition pace. Ondas bought American Robotics in 2021 and Airobotics in 2023. It then added Apeiro Motion, Roboteam, DZYNE, and Cyberhawk in 2026. Most recently, it bought GATE Technologies and Bron Technologies for 205 million dollars in September 2026. As a result, the company built a broad product line quickly.

Long term win: combat validation. The Iron Drone Raider has been defending Tel Aviv against hostile drones since 2023, giving it real combat data that competitors will find hard to replicate.

    The Technology Roadmap Ahead

Short term, the focus is active orders and deployments. The Iron Drone Raider has won purchase orders including 8 million and 3.4 million dollar contracts. Active programs also include the US Army LUS contract, Iron Strike, Ultra, and IndoEarth.

Long term, the goal is a unified platform. This means combining the wireless network, drones, ground robots, sensing, and munitions components under one operating structure.

The stated company goal is to exit 2026 near a 1 billion dollar annualized revenue run rate. In addition, the operating platform is targeted to be profitable on an adjusted EBITDA basis by Q4 2026, with the full company following by Q4 2027.

Is the company on track? The repeated guidance increases suggest yes. The 2026 revenue target was raised twice, first from 170 to 180 million dollars, then to 390 million, and most recently to 525 to 550 million dollars.

    Financial Firepower

Cash burn is about 51 million dollars per quarter in operating cash flow as of Q1 2026. Adjusted EBITDA loss was 50.6 million dollars in Q2 2026.

Cash on hand was 1.4 billion dollars as of June 30, 2026. This came from two offerings, 830 million dollars in 2025 and 959 million dollars in January 2026.

Of that cash, about 325 million dollars has already gone toward the DZYNE and Cyberhawk deals, and 205 million dollars toward GATE and Bron.

No additional funding has been stated as needed. Management says current cash covers near term operations and planned M&A, which points to a runway of multiple years at the current burn rate.

    Cash Flow and Margin Trajectory

Operating cash flow losses widened from 6.7 million dollars in Q1 2025 to 51 million dollars in Q1 2026. That mostly reflects working capital build and acquisition costs, not a weakening core business.

EBITDA loss also widened, from 5.8 million dollars in Q2 2025 to 50.6 million dollars in Q2 2026 at the consolidated level. Still, the standalone operating businesses, excluding corporate costs and acquisition integration, reportedly reached EBITDA profitability months ahead of schedule.

Meanwhile, revenue grew every year: 15.7 million dollars in 2023, 50.7 million in 2025, and a guided 525 to 550 million in 2026.

    $ONDS Revenue and EPS Momentum

Quarter over quarter, Q1 2026 revenue was 50.1 million dollars and Q2 2026 was 83.8 million dollars, a 67 percent sequential increase. Q3 2026 guidance sits at 140 to 155 million dollars, which would be another 73 percent sequential increase at the midpoint.

Year over year, Q2 2026 revenue of 83.8 million dollars compares to 6.3 million dollars in Q2 2025, over 13 times growth. Even excluding acquisitions, organic growth alone was about 85 percent year over year.

EPS, on the other hand, has been mixed. The Q2 2026 loss was 0.19 dollars per share, missing estimates of negative 0.07 dollars. This miss was driven mostly by non cash warrant fair value adjustments rather than core operations.

    Where Guidance Points Next

Short term, guidance calls for 140 to 155 million dollars in Q3 2026 revenue and 525 to 550 million dollars for the full year. The operating platform is also expected to be EBITDA profitable by Q4 2026.

Long term, the company wide EBITDA profitability target is Q4 2027. In addition, the strategic pipeline has grown to over 11 billion dollars, up 2.5 times since May 2026.

    Institutional Money Is Piling In

Institutional value was near zero from 2019 through most of 2024. It then started rising through 2025 and accelerated sharply in 2026.

Ondas Inc ONDS institutional ownership breakdown

Specifically, reported institutional value jumped from about 900 million dollars in Q1 2026 to 2.18 billion dollars in Q2 2026, over 100 percent growth in one quarter. Total 13F filings tracking the stock also rose, from under 100 a few years ago to over 460 by Q2 2026.

Among individual holders, BlackRock increased its position by 324 percent and Vanguard Portfolio Management by 8,906 percent. Citadel, T. Rowe Price, and Nomura all appear as new holders in the same period, and institutions now hold just over 50 percent of shares outstanding.

    $ONDS Analyst Price Targets

Eight analyst firms currently cover Ondas Inc ONDS, and all eight rate the stock a Buy. Targets range from 13 dollars at Roth MKM to 25 dollars at H.C. Wainwright, a wide spread that reflects how early this growth story still is.

The average target across all eight sits at roughly 19.60 dollars, with a median of 19 dollars. Against a recent closing price of 7.64 dollars, the average target implies upside of well over 100 percent.

    5 analyst price targets

Needham and Lake Street both reiterated 19 dollar targets in mid September 2026. Ladenburg Thalmann raised its target from 21.50 to 22.75 dollars in August. Maxim Group sits at 22 dollars and Oppenheimer at 18 dollars, both reiterated through the summer.

No firm currently rates the stock a Hold or a Sell, a fairly rare setup for a company still posting consolidated losses. Unanimous Buy ratings reflect sell side confidence in the growth story, not a guarantee of where the stock trades next.

    The Bull Case

Counter drone and autonomous defense spending is rising globally, a clear tailwind. Growth is fast even excluding acquisitions, and the large cash position funds further deals without immediate dilution risk.

    The Moat That Protects It

On the wireless side, Ondas holds a strong position in the 900 MHz spectrum used by the rail industry, which is hard for new entrants to displace.

On the drone side, the moat is regulatory and experience based. Optimus holds the first FAA type certification for a small drone system and the first FAA approval for beyond visual line of sight operation without an onsite operator, while the Iron Drone Raider carries real combat use data from Israel.

The Risks Still on the Table

Despite the growth, the company is still losing money at the consolidated level. It is also growing through acquisitions, which carries integration risk and dilution risk. On top of that, it trades at high valuation multiples relative to sector medians.

Ondas Inc ONDS backlog growth chart

Overall, the backlog of 757 million dollars and the pipeline of 11 billion dollars still need to convert into delivered, profitable revenue.
